H&M Summer 2012

A little preview of what H&M has in store for us this summer. I love the combination of wine red and yellow/gold. Frida Gustavsson shot by Andreas Sjodin. (Life in pics)

Spring outfit

I'd love to be able to wear these clothes soon; I just can't wait for spring to come now. I've checked out some of the new collections and so far I've seen many pastel colors (mint, baby pink) but also the total opposite: bright colored patterns. I'm not sure if I like all the color overloaded patterns so I chose to put together an outfit with more natural colors.

I found these new spring items at Topshop (top and shorts), Asos (watch and sunnies) and Zara (boots and bag).

En Vogue

A relatively new must-follow blog is En Vogue. It's a Facebook blog so it's really easy to follow when you 'Like' it; every new post simply appears on your news feed. En Vogue is actually my sister's blog, and I like it a lot because she posts inspiring pictures that she finds across the web as well as pictures taken by herself. You're literally being spoon fed with fashion photos. A definite must-like if you want to make your news feed a bit more inspirational and fashionable.

Chokladbollar

Yesterday, my friends Katarina and Rickard invited some people over for a cozy evening at their place. Katarina had prepared something delicious (and Swedish!) for us: chokladbollar. I'm not sure how to translate that, but I have to practice my Swedish anyway so why not start with desserts. The no-bake chokladbollar are made of cocoa powder, coconut, sugar, butter, vanilla extract and oatmeal. Apparently, this is the very first thing that Swedish kids learn how to cook, which I think is such a nice tradition. If you want to try to make it yourself, you can find loads of recipes on Google. (just type in chokladbollar recipe)

Edimbourg

Astier de Villatte is one of the most attractive shops on Rue St. HonorĂ© in Paris. They sell ceramics, paper goods, perfumes, furniture and - most importantly - candles. The candles have unique scents and names, and are made from vegetable wax (a better alternative to normal wax).

I got this Astier de Villatte candle last summer in Paris, and only recently started using it. I love the scent, the bubbly glass it comes in and the simple label. If you want to check it out, you can find the candles in Liberty (London).

Kimchee

Tonight a friend and I went to a Korean restaurant called Kimchee, which is on High Holborn. Till the 31st of January there is a special offer: all the food is 50% off. So it didn't come as a surprise when we saw that the line was really long. So once we got inside, we were happy to warm up a bit. I thought the service was really good because the food was ready within minutes. I had vegetarian dumplings and salmon giu, which were both delicious. As a dessert, I tried black sesame ice cream for the first time. It had a really particular taste but I liked it a lot! If you're looking for good Korean/Asian food and a nice atmosphere I definitely recommend Kimchee.

Narcissus

Yet another gray sky today in London. It's really something I haven't gotten used to yet. That's why last week I decided to buy some sunny daffodils for in my room. You can find them in almost every shop now and they really add some "sunshine" to your room.

Sale buys

Here are some of the bargains I found in London during the January sale. It's the first time I try out a body butter from The Body Shop and so far, I'm really happy with it. It smells amazing and makes my skin soft and smooth.

The belts were on my wish list for quite a while already, and now that I have them, I wear them almost every day!

I saw the navajo pants on several blogs and in my sister's closet and I just couldn't resist when I saw them at Zara for only 12 pounds. They remind me a bit of the lovely Isabel Marant Renell jeans. I think sale shopping is pretty chaotic here, especially on weekends; most of the nice clothes at Topshop were already gone within a week. But you don't hear me complain, I'm so happy with my bargains. I hope you also found great things during the sales!
