Recipe: quick & easy vegetable soup

I whipped up this super easy autumn-winter soup the other day because I had some vegetables left over and didn't want them to go bad so I just popped them all into a pot with water and it came out surprisingly good! I made another batch yesterday to make sure that it was actually good and it really is, so here's the recipe..

Quick tip: budget nail caviar

Remember Ciaté's nail caviar? This trend has moved on to the high street, namely super cheap make up brand MUA (sold at Superdrug) has taken over this trend. A little pot with beads costs £3, which is a lot cheaper than Ciaté. Definitely budget proof! Check out the website for all five colors. Libra (below) is my favorite color and looks the most like Ciaté black nail caviar.

Too early for Christmas?

I don't think it is! I'm in London and the Christmas season has already started. All major department stores have their Christmas sections ready and the lights on Oxford and Regents Street will shine brightly soon. Christmas must be my favorite time of the year so I don't mind.
I love these little socks I bought at Primark (£2), they are so cute and festive!

Revlon colorstay top tomato review

I had never ever worn a red lip color until I randomly bought a red lipstain on a hot summer day in September. I had been passively looking for a red color that would suit me, even though I had always thought that red would never suit my fair skin, blond hair and blue eyes. I found this Colorstay Ultimate liquid lipstick by Revlon in the color Top Tomato and just decided to give it a try. After some testing I can finally review it for you!

Zara fall/winter

Like always, I like sharing with my fashionable readers which items I'm loving at Zara at the moment. Yet again Zara's fall/winter collection hasn't disappointed. Take a look at my picks..

Find the tube stations - Look for longer

This is a fun little thing for all you London experts out there. I saw this CBS Outdoor ad while waiting for the tube and didn't realize what it was until my friend pointed out that it's actually a game: look for all 75 tube stations depicted in this image. I can give you an example so you get the gist of it: the arch made of marbles is Marble Arch tube station.

I think this is a fun game and a brilliant campaign (must remember the good ones for my future in PR). I've only managed to find 31 so far but the real experts (my dad for example) will probably find all of them. You can also win prizes. If you'd like to try it, click here.

Bill's, Soho

I found this restaurant as I was walking through Soho with my mother one night, looking for a place to eat.. and that's how we found Bill's. It's a new branch of a larger chain but I had never heard of it before. This restaurant attracted us because it was very busy inside, and it looked like a very cosy place for dinner.
iPhone quality/bad lighting... at least it was good!

The Little Black Jacket, Saatchi Gallery

Today, a special little post for everyone who will be in London between now and the 28th of October. Karl Lagerfeld and Carine Roitfeld have worked together on a photographic exhibition on the theme: Coco Chanel's iconic little black jacket.

Le Relais de Venise, Marylebone

I have written about this restaurant before in a food diary post but this place really deserves its own blog post, so here I go. It's one of my favorite fool-proof places in London.

A few years ago, on a lovely day in St Germain, Paris, we randomly stumbled upon a line of people waiting to get into what seemed to be an average looking brasserie. We decided to join in (where there's a line there must be good food), had a quick glance at the menu and thought it was pretty strange because there was only one thing on the menu: a salad with mustard dressing and walnuts as a starter, and two servings of entrecote, sauce and fries as a main alltogether for 21 pounds. We ordered our meals, not knowing what to expect..

Mani essentials

These two little manicure items are absolutely essential when I'm doing my nails. The left is a sponge soaked in nail polish remover (I think everyone knows this little beauty gadget by now..) and it's just the best mani invention ever!

The right is a nail file-buffer-shiner with 4 easy steps to make your nails look nice and shiny. My new resolution is to only use nail files instead of a nail clipper (which is bad for brittle nails). Let's see if it makes my disastrous nails stronger.

What are your manicure essentials?

Lola Cruz

With autumn and winter coming up it was about time to get new boots. I actually got these in the middle of August, but with the new winter collections in stores everywhere, I couldn't help myself. Now that I'm back in London, I'm seeing pretty boots in almost every shop I walk into, so sturdy studded boots are certainly making a 'comeback' this winter. I love it!

The man with the golden gun

OPI's Skyfall collection is coming out soon, in honor of 50 years of Bond movies and the newest Bond movie, Skyfall. I haven't seen that much of the collection, but the most wanted piece is amazing! It's an 18 karat gold leaf nail polish; how cool is that? But with the price tag of 40 Euros, I probably won't be adding this gold baby to my nail polish stash. But I'll make sure to test it when it comes out. What do you think? Cool or over the top?
