Sticks 'n Sushi Covent Garden

Remember my enthusiastic post about Sticks ‘n Sushi in Wimbledon? Well, get ready for another one. The new Sticks‘n Sushi in Covent Garden opened a few weeks ago and I couldn’t be happier. Before this restaurant becomes as busy as every good restaurant in London, I wanted to share this foodie paradise with you! I’ve been twice so far, so I managed to snap a few pictures. (check my previous post for better ones)
If you like me and also think there’s a lack of nice mid-price sushi restaurants in London, Sticks ‘n Sushi is there to save the day. The new restaurant in Covent Garden looks modern, chique and quite cool. It’s the kind of place where you go to have a nice girly evening with friends before a night out. The menu (one of the best I've seen in terms of presentation) contains an endless choice of sushi, sashimi, grilled food, massive sharing platters and little Japanese-style dishes.

Sticks ‘n Sushi is great for a sharing dinner, so you can order different rolls and it will all arrive one big plate. The first time I went, we went a little crazy on the Ebi rolls, which are a MUST. These prawn-tempura rolls with avocado are so incredibly good (I want to eat them now!).

Another favourite of mine were the miso black cod rolls. Miso black cod is my favourite dish at Nobu and Roka, and to turn this into a sushi roll is simply brilliant. A little critique is that they do always fall apart when eating them (more miso might be the answer, yummy).

Some other things we tried (however I liked these less than the sushi): beef tataki, tuna stick, softshell crab rolls and (actually not very) spicy edamame.

We opted for a little bento box for dessert with: matcha green tea ice cream, chocolate fondant (divine!), crème brulee and a little white chocolate and rice puff ball. A perfect mix!

The second time I went to Sticks 'n Sushi the service was really not very good; a very confused girl was serving us, and it took 20 min for our dessert to arrive. But still, despite all that I still can’t help but love Sticks. Definitely give it a shot, order the Ebi and miso cod rolls and let me know if you like it.

I was a little hesitant while writing this post because I’m on my way to Belgium which means I won’t be able to satisfy my Sticks ‘n Sushi cravings for another month! The things I do for my blog… ;)
