Aztec & black

It's been winter for way too long, and I'm slowly running out of inspiration for outfits. Last week, I decided to cheer up my all-black outfit with my printed Aztec pants. During the colder months, I don't like wearing too much colour and I feel comfortable in all-black outfits. These kind of printed items are the perfect items to break my all-black winter habits and dip my toes into spring!

& Other Stories "Raschel Rouge" lipstick

I never told you that when I went to the & Other Stories shop for the first time, I was offered a free lipstick while waiting in the huge line of the fitting rooms. So sweet and great customer service! There were three colours, and I chose this beautiful Raschel Rouge.

Patty & Bun

Last weekend my brother payed me a visit. And we ate A LOT. On Thursday we had  lobsters at Burger&Lobster, on Friday we ate steak at Le Relais de Venise, on Saturday we had burgers at Byron and to top it all off we had another burger on Sunday. Let's not forget every single one of those meals came with french fries. One hell of a weekend! I can't even imagine how we managed to eat it all. I haven't written a review about the last place: burgers at Patty&Bun.

Asos granatina pink bikini

It's finally Friday and I have survived my first week of being an intern. It feels like the week just flew by! But I'm so ready for the weekend. As a matter of fact, I'm so ready for the summer too: I made a cheeky order on Asos today. It had to be a bright bikini, don't ask me why. I really love the colour and shape but I'll have to see what it looks like when I receive it before deciding to keep it. Anyway, I just couldn't resist with 25% off through Unidays (amazing for student discounts). You'll find the prettiest bikini's now before real spring and summer arrives!

Find it here.

Helena Rubinstein All Mascaras!

Ever since I started using make-up, my mom has been raving about one product only: the Helena Rubinstein eye make-up remover. I can't remember the time when I couldn't find this her make-up collection. She almost wouldn't allow my sister and I to use any other remover. It's THAT good.

Raf Simons Dior interview for Telegraph

I read a really touching interview today. Raf Simons, a name we can be very proud of in the Belgian (and world) fashion scene, was interviewed by Lisa Armstrong for the Telegraph. You have to read to interview if you have time. If not, you can read this little paragraph which was most touching to me. Raf talking about his mother and flowers...

" 'My mother was a cleaning lady all her life,' Simons says, sprawling on a sofa in the grey cocoon. He is dressed in his habitual khakis. A big bowl of fat roses sits on the table between us like an aromatic shield, although it also looks faintly incongruous with his slightly ascetic air. At 44, arrestingly blue-eyed, tall and crop-headed, he still somehow looks like a boy scout. 'She didn't have many opportunities to indulge her creativity but she was always arranging bouquets of flowers for the whole street.' The fragrant banks of peonies and lilies that lined the walls of the adjoining salons where he showed his first couture collection for Dior were a tribute to her and to Christian Dior, who was also partial to flowers. 'I have created Flower Women,' Dior exclaimed on examining the slender, stem-waisted skirts of his New Look in 1948. "

I already LOVED the flower covered walls at Raf's first show for Dior, but now that I know the story behind it, I might love it even more. I really like everything Raf has done so far for Dior and can't wait to see this iconic brand develop even more. In the meantime, have a look at the Dior exhibition which is going on at Harrods until April 14th. I can't wait to go in for a peek!

Food trend: banana pancakes (& recipe)

I've been spotting a real trend in the blogosphere, not a fashion trend but a food trend! I see pictures of banana pancakes everywhere and I've made them a couple of times. It's really something different and perfect if you're bored of toast or the good old porridge. It's my Sunday morning breakfast treat :)

Pastel spring nails

Just because it still snowing doesn't mean we can't have spring, right? My nails have been totally spring-proof the past few days because of these pretty pastel nail polishes. They remind me of Easter eggs and spring flowers!
Left: Barry M Ridley Road textured nail paint
Middle: American Apparel Coney Island
Right: Barry M Blueberry gelly hi-shine nail paint

All three polishes needs two layers for an opaque coverage. I can't decide which one is my favorite. Ridley Road's textured finish it so special, it's just like sandpaper. Blueberry's finish is super shiny and feels like gel nails. And Coney Island is the perfect baby pink!

& Other Stories: my picks

As promised, I am sharing my & Other Stories favorites with you today. The shop was quite different than I expected. I thought everything would be separated: accessories, jewelry, clothing.. but everything was kind of mixed up so you had the feeling of being in a huge walk in-closet. The racks of clothes also gave the impression that you were backstage at a fashion show. Really unique! I'll show you my favorites from the web shop, and the things I tried on.

& Other Stories

& Other Stories has finally opened its doors on Regent's Street, and I can't wait to have a look at this brand new concept: clothes, shoes, lingerie, bags, jewelry and make-up all by one brand. The styling on the website's photos is already flawless so I can't wait to see what they have in store.. I'll report back to you soon!

Tip: Boots nail polish remover

I'm never really too fussy about nail polish removers, as long as they do their job I'm happy. Since my nails are very brittle and dry, I prefer buying acetone-free removers because it's less drying. I bought this remover at Boots with low expectations.

It removes nail polish like any other remover, but instead of leaving a bad chemical scent, it leaves a kind of vanilla cookie scent which is actually nice! I didn't expect this from such a cheap nail polish remover, so I wanted to share this tip with you.

Do you have a favorite nail polish remover?

Update

I'm sorry for not updating at all this week, I have some huge assignments coming up which take up most of my time. Hopefully I will be able to update my blog this weekend, so stay tuned :)

In the meantime, here's a picture of a beautiful bouquet at the flower shop in Selfridges. They have the most beautiful roses in London, and what a great idea to mix flowers with herbs, like rosemary or mint.

In love with lace

I have lately been loving lace tops. I'm infatuated with two tops: the red Zara top - on my wish list for ages - which I finally found during the sales . And the black H&M top, that I fell in love with after borrowing it from a friend, and purchased last week.

New in: jewerly

Remember this post about my favorite jewelry pieces at Forever 21? Well my blog's number 1 fan remembered it and got me this jewelry for Valentine's. So sweet! She knew exactly what to get for me. I love the statement necklace and the rings are really cool. Thank you!

Prada Saffiano look-a-like

This bag is from the new Zara collection and I have spotted about 5 girls already wearing this bag. Each time I think "Ohh the Prada Saffiano.. oh wait, it's not!". It's safe to say that this bag is a pretty good look-a-like for the popular Prada bag; the textured leather as well as the shape and many compartments. At only £50, I understand why I've been seeing it everywhere. I'd rather have the real deal, but this isn't such a bad replacement in the meantime. A nice office or every day handbag; I believe it even fits a Macbook!

Food diary III

It's been a while since I did a food diary. I love seeing what other people eat on a daily basis, so I assume there's more people who'd like to see this! This time, I tried my best to capture my meals with my camera instead of my phone, so the quality is better. Let me know in the comments if you'd like to know more about one of the meals... enjoy!
