Late night online window shopping

While juggling deadlines, I sometimes drift off to the wonderful world of online shops. If you spend all day with your laptop, it's quite natural for it to happen (my new theory). Here's what I found on my latest venture;

As you can see I'm longing for cold days spent in the snow outside in a warm Parajumpers winter coat, with a cute BCBG hat on and sturdy Valentino boots, followed by evenings by the fireplace in cosy joggings from Zoe Karssen (on sale at the Outnet!) and with some glowing cheekbones with the help of Nars Albatross.

If you need any links to the products, let me know.. but right now my bed is calling me ;)

Advent calendars

While I'm desperately trying to fight against time that just seems to slip by (deadline week, that's all you need to know), I wanted to share some amazing advent calendars before December 1st passed. I love those beauty calendars, maybe I should treat myself next week?
1. Benefit Cosmetics advent calendar, filled with mini Benefit products. I WANT!
2. Ciaté nail polish calendar.. sparkly nails? Another must-have
3. The Body Shop calendar, with mini goodies (I spy a body butter!)
4. Yankee Candle calendar, what a super idea?! Perfect to make your house smell all Christmassy

Did you get your advent calendar yet?

Running

The past few months I've been going for runs in London. This year I'm lucky to be located relatively close to both Hyde Park and Regent's Park, so I make full use of it of course ;) Running is not something everyone likes, but if you keep it fun for yourself, you'll love it just as I do. Get ready for a BIG post all about my running tips and experiences (..not very many, so please give your tips too!)

Food in Japan

One of the reasons why life in Japan feels like being on another planet (compared to Europe) is the food. You can forget all about the meaty, sugary and carby foods we eat on a daily basis in Europe. Also, Japanese food in Japan is a totally different thing to Japanese food in Europe. In Japan it's all about rice, tons of fish, egg, liters of green tea, seasonal vegetables and some other things you could never find in Europe.

Winter wish list

There's two things which have been on my wish list for a while now: a pair of black suede over-the-knee boots and a black fur gilet. Both items are usually quite pricey so they really have to be perfect, and that's also the reason why I haven't found them yet. Both are perfect to keep you warm during winter, and stylish at the same time. It's a win-win. The pictures below are from Kenza and Amber. Over-the-knee boots are really versatile and can be worn with pretty much anything.

Fur gilets are perfect for winter because they are warm and cosy. I love Olivia Palermo's gilets! I've spotted a pretty one at Enes online, which I'll definitely have a look at when I'm back in Antwerp.

Suggestions on where to find the perfect over-the-knee boots and a beautiful black fur gilet are more than welcome.

Urban Decay Naked 3

I've got some exciting news for my fellow beauty lovers: Urban Decay is coming out with a third edition of the Naked palette. Every make-up-loving girl must own a Naked palette; I have the Naked 2 and really love it. Whereas the Naked 1 and 2 have warm-toned mixed with cooler-toned eyeshadows, the eyeshadows in the Naked 3 palette are more rose-toned. I'm really curious to see it when it comes out (which must be soon-ish). Something to add to your Christmas wish list?

Check out the full review here and comparisons with Naked 1 and 2 here.

Lately on instagram

I can't remember doing one of these type of posts, and I know some of you might not follow me on instagram (username: athenadb), so here are my favourite insta-pictures from the past few weeks.

Bath & Body Works Fresh Balsam candle, which smells lovely like pine trees. Dutch Vogue is the best Vogue in my opinion // Regent Street Christmas lights are up!

Hello there

As promised, here's the reason why I haven't blogged much lately: I went to Japan! It was my first time there and I had a really great experience in this - for me - "new" country. The culture differences with Europe couldn't be greater and I'm happy to have experienced what it's like to be in totally different part of the world. I took a lot of pictures, so you can expect a few posts dedicated to my trip to Japan :)

Normo coffee | Antwerp

I'm sorry I've been a little quiet on the blog lately, but I'll explain you why soon and the good thing is that there will be lots of posts soon! Anyway, I recently spent a day in Antwerp where my brother took me to a cafe he discovered. It's called Normo and it's a pretty cool little place.

Sensationail: gel nails at home

So I might be a little late jumping on the gel-nails-at-home bandwagon, but for those of you who aren't yet convinced, here's yet another post dedicated to the love for DIY gel nails. I won't dwell on it too much as there are tons of reviews of Sensationail online. The Sensationail Starters Kit includes a LED lamp and some nail products to make gel nails which last for 2 weeks. I've been using this non-stop since late August and it's really the ultimate solution for someone with very weak/brittle nails like me.
