Christmas recap

This year's Christmas period was one of the best so far, and I snapped my way through it with my little camera. Christmas parties, good food and family time: my Christmas in a nutshell!

Christmas in London

London is at its most glorious at two different times of the year: during those first really warm and sunny days around April AND in December during Christmas-time. And Londoners know this, because they manage to turn a two-day holiday into a two-month build-up of excitement, Christmas lights and gift shopping. With Christmas just around the corner now, I thought I'd share some pictures of my favourite city in full ornament. If you're not yet in the Christmas-mood, you will be after reading this post!

Breakfast at Nordic Bakery

After 5 days in London plus one extra day due to strikes in Belgium (hurrah!) I'm back to blogging and ready to tell you what I've been up to the past couple of days. It was wonderful to be back and the weather was amazing so I've had my portion of London, hopefully enough to last until spring ;) Though I prefer salty to sweet, there is one thing I really missed about London: Nordic Bakery.

Nutty chocolate cups

When I first tried Reese's peanut butter cups I was in shock. These. Are. So. Good. At least that's what I thought until we bought a family pack of Reese's on a 10-hour flight and I probably ate 5 of these in a row. I thought ''never again'', but I recently got a craving for them again. Because they aren't easy to find and because one cup contains 100 calories (OMG), I decided to make my own peanut butter and almond butter cups. Better than the real deal, healthier, the easiest treat to make and SO GOOD.

Travelling light in 6 steps

I was never really a particularly light traveller, until I decided I nog longer wanted to lug around heavy luggage, half of which was filled with things I didn't even wear or use. When I first moved to London back in 2011, I literally took ALL my clothes with me. I know. Crazy. But I've gotten better over the years! So today I'll give you a few tips for travelling light(er) but with still having all the options you need and without compromising too much.

Little black 10

So it's winter time, which means we no longer need a valid excuse for wearing black *YESS!* If you know me a bit, you'll know that I like to wear black, especially when going out. I was browsing on Zara.com and found 10 awesome shoes and bags (some perfect for parties), which just happened to be all black. You can never go wrong with black accessories! (and you can never have enough of them either)
Saint Laurent-style bag €29.95 || I have these and get so many compliments on them! €39.99

My perfect Chai Tea Latte

Though I've become a bit of a coffee-convert over the last few months (I blame my dissertation), one of my favourite hot winter drinks is still a Chai latte. The reason why I haven't been ordering this lovely drink recently because they are always way too sweet for my taste, and most of the time it's not even home-made. I prefer my own recipe 1000 times more. Though it's also not completely made from scratch, it contains less calories than the stuff you get at Starbucks, and it also only takes a few minutes to make!

Most loved XIII

New month so that means there's some new things in my life that I've been loving. You know the drill, here's my most loved...

Snack: Terra vegetable chips
I was never really convinced by vegetable chips, but I think that's because a few years ago, there weren't that many options. I found the brand Terra in Belgium, which sells different kinds of vegetable chips. The chips below are the Stripes and Blues chips with sweet potato, blue potato and beetroot. SO yummy, especially the beetroot. And the colours are beautiful so it's also food for the eyes!

Dreamy Christmas ads

Every year around Christmas, brands make a big effort to create the most beautiful ads. You might have seen one of these, but I couldn't resist sharing them. Only 21 more days until Christmas! I've also included the recently-released video made by Karl Lagerfeld for Chanel. Very fairy-tale-like and dreamy..

November in pictures

November passed by in a whirl. On the first of November, I landed in Buenos Aires for a lovely holiday in Argentina and Chile, and after that I've spent my time in Belgium. I must admit I kind of miss Amsterdam now! But next week it's time for Christmas shopping in London which is the best thing ever. Today I've been setting up the Christmas tree so I'm feeling really festive!

when I moved home from Amsterdam, I didn't put away my duvet until the next morning. Of course I found our cat Biba snuggled up in it! // during my internship I had the best manager ever, who spoiled me rotten! On my last day, I gifted her Ottolenghi's new book as a thank-you, and she gave me exactly the same thing! I can't wait to try some recipes
