December in pictures

I spent most of December at home in Antwerp with my family. It feels good to recharge before I head off to my next adventure (next week already, eeek!). Now that I think about it I did travel a bit last month. I did three little trips, one very short trip to France, one to my favourite city London and lastly a city I've never been to, Berlin (I'll write some posts about it). As always I made waaay too many photos so let's go.
Biba decided that my coat was a good place to sleep // ABC juice without a having a juicer: just take beetroot, carrot and apple juice and mix them together. Love beetroot juice! (I thought I was the only one but my dad always secretly finishes the bottle!)

Breakfast in France, the only time when I'll eat a croissant. I don't like croissants but I can't resist a good French one. // Decorating the Christmas tree! Our huge fake tree took me two days to set up, but it was worth it because it looked even better than other years with the gold and red theme.

Missing my London girls so much! So I headed off to London (5 months after I moved away) for Christmas shopping and a BIG catch up with my favourite Londoners (Irene you were missed!)

The Shard up close when we took the train from Gatwick to the centre // in love with my boots from & Other Stories, they fit perfectly. They should be on sale now

Delicious Teriyaki salmon at one of my favourite secret little Japanese restaurants, Ohisama // salad at Whole Foods, super tasty but expensive

Got my highlights done at Daniel Galvin in Marylebone. Best hairdresser I've been to and the only place where I want to get my highlights done (about twice a year), always looks super natural! // tried this sweater at Nike Town, loved it but didn't get it

Christmas shopping makes you hungry! Some London snacks I can't get hold of back home: Trek Cocoa Coconut and Vita Coco Café Mocha. Sweet and chocolatey combo but so good. // Christmas shopping going well!

Still my favourite bags out there, the Antigona Givenchy bags // tried on my dream boots from Stuart Weitzman: thigh high, suede, no heels and tight enough around my calves. I am definitely going to save up for these for next winter!

Visited the Rembrandt exhibition at the National Gallery. My advice is to go very early in the morning or at night. It's very popular and super busy // saw Whistlejacket by George Stubbs for the first time, even though I've had a postcard of this painting for ages

my favourite shirt this winter, from Monki // the best salads in London are at Savage Salads on Berwick Street Market in Soho. Thyme grilled chicken, halloumi and an assortment of different seasonal salads (spinach, beetroot, pumpkin, couscous). Tastes AMAZING and it's only £5

More food at Polpo, one of the best Italian places in London. I love the flank steak and mushroom pizzetta, but the chocolate and hazelnut tarte was also really good

Lusted over Alaïa dresses at Harrods // Selfridges looking super festive

Milkshakes at Byron! // Cool restaurant interior at the Edition Hotel

Cinnamon buns and coffee for breakfast // walked it off at Regent's Park and Primrose Hill

My favourite photographer is Hiroshi Sugimoto. I'm fond of his seascapes, but in London we saw his photographs of the dioramas at the Natural History Museum. It's incredible how he made the dioramas look so real. You can see these photographs at the Pace Gallery in London until 24/01, worth a look!

I love this place at Lincoln's Inn near Chancery Lane. It's a passage under a chapel, such a cool location // Liberty bags are the prettiest!

Doing some exercise around Christmas // baby it's cold outside!

persimmon and passion fruit perfection // my mom wanted to buy a real tree last-minute, though we underestimated its size a bit as you can see

cool top at Zara, though it's from wool and I'm allergic unfortunately // spotted this pretty hat at Forever21

Best pasta with veal meatballs at Pasta Vino in Antwerp // Antwerp looking all Christmassy

Some 'different' Christmas decoration at Houben in Antwerp, really love this combination // two of my favourite fruits (raspberry is my number one though)

Our first real tree we're had in years! // Christmas eve isn't complete without champagne

Sushi at Roji in Antwerp // happy birthday to mama!

Put my hair up in a chignon for a Christmas party and it looked so chique if I may say so myself, should do it more often // coffee and one of my Christmas gifts, a limited edition Harper's from the V&A. I love owls so this is the best cover ever for me

Snowy morning walk // festive flowers

Spent the last days of 2014 in Berlin. Coffee, eggs and wieners for breakfast

It also snowed in Berlin, pretty! // cool teashop somewhere in the city

So that was my December, lots of shopping, even more food and very little exercise ha-ha! It was the best way to end the year. Can't wait to see what this year has in store! Follow me on Instagram to see what I'm up to: athenadb
