The Bayerischer Hof is somewhat of an institution in Munich. For those of you not familiar with the Bayerischer Hof: it's one of the world's leading hotels located in the heart of Munich. It might not be the first and obvious choice when looking for breakfast in Munich, but after this post you might think differently. If you're on the hunt for a five-star breakfast, or you're a guest of the hotel, definitely check out the frühstück at Hotel Bayerischer Hof.
The breakfast room is located on the 6th floor of the hotel (out of 7) so the experience already starts when you walk in and see the view, with some of the most important landmarks of the city. During summer, you can have breakfast on the big outdoor terrace. It's the best view you'll get in Munich! (photos taken in winter)
Breakfast (or früstück as they say in German) at Bayerischer Hof is incredible. You've never seen a tastier buffet than here. No fruits from cans, no dried out scrambled eggs and no gross orange juice from a carton. Instead you have champagne (naturally), endless mountains of fresh bread rolls, pretzels, pastries, rye bread, muesli, nuts.. To have on your bread you can order eggs, any style you want and with all the sides you need. There are about 9 different juices and smoothies, my favourite being the strawberry smoothie (pure strawberries, mixed!). There is freshly cut fruit, yoghurt, boiled eggs, sausages, leberkäse, crispy bacon, smoked salmon... and my favourite thing from the whole buffet: thick, soft & sweet medjool dates - the best I've had so far! Of course you can also have your coffee any way you want. I'll let the pictures speak for themselves now:
If you've ever in town and want to splash out on breakfast? Then the Bayerischer Hof is the right place to be. If you're staying at the hotel, lucky you! Breakfast is waiting for you..
