Raspberry oats

I've been having this breakfast nearly every day for the past two weeks, so I thought it was worth sharing. It's damn cold in Munich, so smoothie bowls aren't what I'm craving in the morning (also, I don't have a blender here). I want something warm that will keep me going, and raspberry oatmeal just the perfect thing.

Since you seemed to quite like my Amsterdam first impressions post, I'm making one about Munich. What's the first random things I noticed about Munich after living here for two weeks? Continue to read and you'll find out...

Monsieur Vuong, Berlin

Another place that was recommended to my by numerous people in Berlin, was Monsieur Vuong. When driving around Berlin, I noticed that there are numerous Vietnamese places. I haven't had that much Vietnamese food before, only in Amsterdam where I regularly went to Nghia Nghia for lunch (divine food, really). And now that I think of it I had some amazing Vietnamese food at Sudestada.  So my previous experiences with Vietnamese food + the fact that this place is really hyped raised the expectations quite a bit.

Sweatshop - Deadly Fashion

I just finished watching a short documentary about sweat shops in Cambodia, and I had to share. Three Norwegian fashion-lovers find out what exactly the life of a garment worker looks like. We never really think about where the clothes that we buy come from, who has made them and what their life is like. I'm afraid that this only a very small part of the industry that we can see, since it was the only factory that allowed filming. I'm not sure what else to say, or how this issue can be tackled, but at least this is an eye opener. Please watch, it will make you think a lot about this issue.. (full version with English subtitles)

10 iPhone apps I use & love

I once wrote a post about my favourite apps, but that was ages ago AND I accidentally removed that post (amateur blogger hah!) So I wanted to share my favourite apps I use on my iPhone. Some I use daily, some only once in a while, but they are all worth mentioning. So here's my top ten favourite apps:

Shiso Burger, Berlin

Shiso Burger is a little Japanese-style burger place in Berlin. Two friends recommended it, so of course I got curious and tried it out. I love Japanese food and I love burgers, so nothing could go wrong!

Hello Munich!

If you follow me on instagram, you might have already seen that I've moved to a new city: Munich! I love discovering new cities, places, cultures and languages so after my studies in London and an internship in Amsterdam (and a looong looovely break back at home in Antwerp), it was time to pack my bags again. Munich was my city of choice because A) I found an internship at a cool, relevant and interesting company B) I really want to learn German. So in the next 6 months I am based over here!

Today I just had my second day at the internship so there's a lot of new things to learn etc. Plus I'm still looking for a place to live and I've been looking for a good gym, just basically setting up my new life here. If you happen to have tips, let me know! Otherwise, I hope you enjoy my blogposts about Munich the coming 6 months. If there's anything in particular you'd like to see on whiskers & lions, let me know in the comments or email me at [email protected]

Berlin days

So just before new year, we spontaneously decided to drive over to Berlin for a quick visit. I had never been to the German capital and only heard good things about it, so I was excited to see this 'new' city. Berlin is a city which has so much to offer cultural-wise. So this trip was one with a lot of museum visits, which was good since it was absolutely freezing outside. Berlin has some excellent museums so I'll share the ones we visited and will write separate reviews of the restaurants we went to, so stay tuned for more Berlin-food-related posts, if that's more your cup of tea!

Vogue's 73 questions

Last year Vogue started making these fun videos where they ask someone famous 73 consecutive questions. You might already have seen some, or the one of Blake Lively that I posted in July. I wanted to share some others too. 73 questions with Victoria Beckham, Anna Wintour and Amy Adams. Watch the others here.

Sporty bargains

New year, new you! For those of you who are on the right track of their health journey, or those of you just starting, I collected the nicest sportswear from the online sales. A new pair of shoes or tights can be a great reward or motivation. And if you buy good basics in the sale now, you won't need to get them at full price when spring (aka biniki-season panic) comes around. Who doesn't love a good bargain? My sports collection is slowly taking over my wardrobe so I definitely don't need any of these items, though it's hard to resist. Happy shopping!

running tights, my favourite // pink trainers // run the earth sweatshirt // cloud-like running Air Max, love them // flattering tights

Mazi Notting Hill

During my last trip to London, I didn't try out that many new restaurants because I went back to some old favourites. But there's one place that was completely new to me, which a friend had recommended. Mazi is a tiny Greek restaurant located in a charming small street in Notting Hill. I rarely eat Greek food so I was curious what this place had to offer.

10 most popular posts of '14

We're 4 days into 2015, but I can't help but do one more throwback to 2014. While I didn't manage to blog as much as I wanted to, I tried my best to give you quality content, and looking at the most viewed posts I noticed that the high quality posts are the most appreciated ones. Yay! I've also noticed that reviews of new restaurants and shops are the most popular, which makes sense. So in 2015 I'll try my best to provide you with the newest hotspots and the best possible photos! Simply click on the title to go straight to the post.

December in pictures

I spent most of December at home in Antwerp with my family. It feels good to recharge before I head off to my next adventure (next week already, eeek!). Now that I think about it I did travel a bit last month. I did three little trips, one very short trip to France, one to my favourite city London and lastly a city I've never been to, Berlin (I'll write some posts about it). As always I made waaay too many photos so let's go.
Biba decided that my coat was a good place to sleep // ABC juice without a having a juicer: just take beetroot, carrot and apple juice and mix them together. Love beetroot juice! (I thought I was the only one but my dad always secretly finishes the bottle!)

Spicy squash & carrot curry

So we're in the middle of winter, some of you may be studying for exams, others may have made some health-related new years resolutions SO this is why I decided to kick off the year with a spicy, healthy and easy recipe. I love curries, especially the ones on Brick Lane Market in London or at Thai Metro. So I decided to make my own and came up with this bowl of colourful vegetable goodness:

HAPPY NEW YEAR to all my dear readers. Before it's time to look forward, I'm looking back at my 2014. The year in which…

I got my bachelor diploma in Public Relations

I got off my lazy ass and got a gym membership. I admit got a bit addicted to working out.

I started drinking coffee for real. First iced latte’s, then the real deal. And now I need coffee every day. (I’m not sure whether this is a good thing haha)

I ran my first race together with one of my biggest running inspirations, Annemerel, her sister and my best friends. We Own The Night was so fun and I definitely want to do it again in 2015. And since I ran a PR I have something to beat in 2015!

I got to cross ‘Oktoberfest’ off my (imaginary) bucket list!

I wrote my first “book” a.k.a. my bachelor thesis. It was hard work but it was also the best feeling having the printed version in my hands.

I cooked myself some damn good meals, but also had some incredible food at restaurants.

I turned 21 and celebrated with all my loved ones around

I finally got around to taking my drivers test and pass it right away, yippieee (I couldn’t believe it!)

I met and got to know some awesome new people

I was lucky to travel to Spain, France, Germany, Argentina and Chile, AND lived in London, Amsterdam and Antwerp

I got hooked on sweet potato fries.

In 2015, I hope to travel to new places, learn new things, run another race, discover new recipes, become more fit, learn German (this is a hint as to where I’m going next) and continue to blog of course, I’m taking you along! Have a healthy & happy 2015 everyone!
