A few weeks back, I booked my first class at Project by Equinox, together with my roommate. Just like I'm a self-proclaimed food expert, my roommate is the ultimate expert in New York workouts. I'm pretty sure she has tried every single class there is on offer in New York, from spinning to boxing, you name it and she's probably tried it. When she told me about a new Equinox concept where fitness instructors test their new classes, I was immediately on board to try it out!
Project is located on Mulberry St. in Nolita. It's a boutique fitness studio which is totally different from the usual Equinox gyms. There are 8 trainers, each specified in different kinds of workout. Some of them are Instagram-famous, like Kirsty Godso, whom I've been following for a long time. We booked a babes & bands class with Bec, also known as Sweat with Bec.
The studio is really nicely designed, with a lot of industrial concrete, quotes and cool details like USB ports inside the lockers.
Satisfied, sweaty and happy after the class, there's almost no better feeling than having a good workout!
There's a little lounge area where you can hang out after class and help yourself to some yogurt or cold brew with soy milk (so delicious!) A really nice touch!
Overall, I love the feel and vibe of Project. It almost feels like a luxury hotel rather than a fitness studio. I also like the fact that the trainers can do as they please and experiment with new exercises, workouts or equipment. I think it makes the classes more fun for both them and us! If you want to give it a try as well, you can sign up for your first free class on the website. I'd highly recommend it!
