Brunch is BIG in New York. It's the perfect meal because 1) it's acceptable to order both waffles and fries, and 2) if you do it right, you have breakfast and lunch in one go and won't need another meal until the evening. Since I didn't take many pictures at these three places but I still wanted to share them, I decided to make one big post with three New York brunch spots. Ruby's serves a nice Australian brunch, at Maman you get a French déjeuner and at The Smith you'll find real American-style options.

One of the best things about New York is the constant flow of new restaurant openings. It's a city where you'd never have to eat the same thing twice (if you wished to do so). De Maria is one of New York's latest additions to the all-day-café-scene, and I think I'm already in love. Everything is aesthetically pleasing, down to the very last detail, which is exactly the kind of place I like.

My last New York post ended last Thursday morning, after my boxing class at Gotham Gym. What I got up to in the long weekend: some partying, enjoying the first days of real spring in the city, going for brunch in Brooklyn, exploring Williamsburg and just wandering around the city without a plan. The weather was just incredible and you could really feel the city come alive. The same thing always happened in London, when the first days of spring came around and it felt like an entirely different city. It's probably my favourite time of the year.

Because I'm feeling a little homesick, I thought I'd squeeze in an Antwerp post between all my talk about New York. Juno is a restaurant in Antwerp which opened last summer, so it's still kind of new! They're best known for their beautiful plant-based lunch dishes so I took a friend here for my last lunch in Antwerp back in December.

Time is flying by, I've been in New York for a month now! Things that happened in the last 10 days: first day of spring weather, first snow storm, fashion week, boxing classes, Valentine's day, my first exam at uni and one of the best pizzas of my life. As always, a very picture-heavy post!

Buvette is one of those brunch classics in New York that everyone seems to go to at least once during their stay in the city. Which is funny, because it's French, not American. It's located in Greenwich Village, in a charming little street. Last Sunday, I went with two friends and we had one of the most decadent brunches I've had in a while!
After a long morning at the Met, my friend Fernando and I were absolutely starving. When I suggested we'd go to The Dumpling Man (which he had told me about) I got an immediate "YES!" so we hopped on the subway to the East Village, in search for dumplings. It's exactly what we needed on that freezing cold and rainy day.

Time for a new update from New York! I finally found a place to live and moved to Greenwich Village, it snowed for the first time, I took a mandatory trip to IKEA, watched the Superbowl and went to the Met. And of course, I tried some new restaurants (tacos, pizza, dumplings, you name it).

I love being one of the first people to try a new place. Everything is fresh, the owners/staff go above and beyond to please their first customers and you get to try it before the rest of the world finds out about it too (endless queueing). So when I saw that a little Australian café called Banter would open on Thursday, I was determined to try it, snow day or not. And it so happens to be super close to where we live, so my roommate and I walked right over for brunch.

Today's post is a mini review of a brunch spot in the East Village. Boulton & Watt looks like nothing special from the outside, and inside it feels more like a run down pub than a place where you'd have brunch. But when my friend told me they had the best french toast in town, I had to go try it.

By CHLOE has taken over my Instagram feed ever since it opened in 2015. It’s one of the first places that has managed to make vegan fast food attractive, both in look and taste. So it has been wildly Instagrammed by every girl in New York. Tasty vegan food is hard to find in Belgium, but New York is the complete opposite. It seems like at least half of everyone is meet is vegetarian, which of feels like a breath of fresh air. The most surprising thing is that not only vegans go to By CHLOE, but everyone does, even the biggest meat lovers. It's that good.
Time for another New York post. These seem to be popular so I'll try my best to keep it up! These are pictures I took between last Wednesday and this week Monday. The weather was incredible, so I walked around a lot (what's new), ticked some things off my to-do list and went to Brooklyn for the first time.

Linda Tol is probably my favourite Dutchie I follow on Instagram. Even though she works in fashion, she always stays herself and is super sweet. And she goes to the coolest places. When she was in New York last year I saw that she went to Café Henrie for brunch (and said it was one of her favourites), and it looked so great I immediately wrote it down. Now, months later, I could finally go and try it myself!

On my first morning in New York, I walked over to The Butcher's Daughter for breakfast. I had been wanting to go here for ages, and since it's only a 10-minute walk from where I'm staying now, there was no reason why I shouldn't go (except the rain, but that still didn't stop me). This little place serves up one of New York's best vegan brekkies, so I'd been told.

Anyone living in Antwerp will know this place, and has probably been numerous times (if this isn’t the case, shame on you). For anyone living outside of Antwerp, this is probably one of the best tips I can give you for when you’re visiting my hometown. Finjan has received numerous prizes and is probably in the top three cheap eats in Antwerp. It’s nothing fancy, just a simple restaurant with delicious fresh food. Finjan is famous for its pittas, of all kinds. I know people who’d make a detour to get their hands on a Finjan pitta!

I just spent 11 days in the midst of summer in Fortaleza, the North East of Brazil. Since none of us was familiar with this city and had no references whatsoever, it was up to us to explore Fortaleza and find the hidden gems. One night, we discovered a little gold-mine in terms of restaurants, in the area around Rua Prof. Dias Da Rocha. Cort is also located on this street, and the moment we passed by it with the taxi, we knew we had to come back. And so we did. Three times! You could say we were practically regulars by the end our trip.

I rarely go to Brussels, so when I had to visit the U.S. embassy a couple of weeks ago, I asked my cousin where I should go for brunch. She told me I could get some tasty coffee and vegan snacks at a little place called MOK, so I was sold. It was a bit out of the way, but thankfully it was 100% worth it.

After telling you a bit about Sydney's beaches, museums etc., it's time to get to the (even) more interesting part: the food! Just like Melbourne, Sydney is an absolute treasure chest when it comes to good restaurants. You'll need to try really hard to have a bad meal here. I got to eat some of the best ice cream and brunches of my whole trip in Australia. Let's get into my Sydney food guide...

First of all, I wanted to wish you all a merry Christmas! I hope you're having a lovely couple of days filled with good food, laughter, games, Christmas films, and above all, quality time with your family and loved ones. Last night, on Christmas eve, my mum cooked a delicious meal which we enjoyed with the family at home.Today on Christmas day, I took care of dinner. I decided to make a full plant-based Christmas dinner like last year. The perfect thing to have if you want to take a little break from those heavy meals one usually eats around Christmas time. This meal had all the delicious flavours you could wish for, without the food coma.

Remember the post about some cracking pizza spots in Antwerp? Otomat is definitely my favourite one, mainly because they have a delicious vegan pizza on their menu. A pizza without tomato sauce and mozzarella might sound boring, but trust me, this one definitely isn't. The combination of the creamy carrot puree together with the crispy vegetables on top is just perfect. So I re-created Otomat's Mega Vega pizza at home and I'm sharing the recipe with you!
