Last day in Spain. I'm so happy to be able to wear my absolute favorite shorts from H&M's Conscious Collections from last summer. Even though they stretch enormously after wearing them twice, washing them again and again is totally worth it. Thank god they shrink, it's even a size 34. I paired it with some black Converse and a new favourite: a nude sweater from Blanco. I had never been to a Blanco shop and found out they have really nice clothes and accessories, a little bit similar to Bershka (they also have an online shop). I also went to Zara and bought two things which I will show you another time (really happy with it!). I tried on this neon yellow top, but didn't buy it even though I liked it. It's a bit too early for summery neon colours I think. I'll go enjoy the last tapas and the lovely beach now. Have a nice day!

Flower power sister act

Go check out my sister's blog, I'm featured on it today. Pictures were taken last week in Leuven, a little trip I still haven't told you about! Follow her blog on Bloglovin;)

Biba's Blog: Flower Girls

Here's a little taste of Spain. We started with some great tapas and ended with relaxing on the beach. Walking around in jeans with 27 degrees is not ideal so tomorrow I'll try to be better prepared. I hope all of you are also enjoying the lovely weather! Buenas noches

Hola guapa!

Tomorrow morning, I'm flying off to.. Spain! I will be with my boyfriend  in San Sebastianfor a few days and I'm already looking forward to see what this city has to offer. Apparently you can eat the best tapas ever there, yumm. Another big plus are the Spanish (low) prices at Zara.  I can't wait to go to the beach and stroll around town while hearing Spanish people speak Spanish, olĂ©! Such a summery feeling. I think my Spanish is quite rusty  almost non existent so I can't wait to practice a bit "Un helado por favor. Vamos a la playa!". Any tips for San Sebastian/Biarritz/Bilbao are welcome. I'm not sure if I'll be blogging every day but I'll try my best, Hasta luego!

Fresh & Wild lip balm

I got this Fresh & Wild lip balm at Whole Foods a while ago for a sweet deal (it less than a pound). There were loads of flavors but I went for peppermint. I believe that these lip balms are only sold at Whole Foods. They are made of organic ingredients including coconut oil, beeswax and olive oil which are amazing for your lips! This peppermint flavor gives a really fresh and tingly sensation which I love.

With temperatures rising, days getting longer (tomorrow we change to summer time!) and the sun shining brighter, it is time to get your sunnies out. Not only do they stop you from squinting (= getting wrinkles) but they also make your look a bit more fabulous. Here's my selection of my favorite sunglasses on the web:

Asos swimwear

Like each year, online web shop Asos has some beautiful swimwear in their collection. I ordered a bikini once and I was/still am happy with it. It's a bit of a guess with the online sizes but these bikinis are something different than the H&M bikinis that everyone purchases every year (yes, I'm also one of those people). I know it's only March, but now is the right time to buy a bikini because by the time July comes around, the best ones are sold out already. I think I might order one this year again, there are so many nice bikinis and bathing suits! These are my favorites:

Happy days. Spring has arrived and I love everything about it: happy cat and dog sitting in the sun, bright yellow Easter flowers and the first Indian mangoes which make breakfast a little more exotic (the red is strawberry sauce). Being in Belgium means different surroundings and different places where I have to look for inspiration. I was looking through Nigella's cookbook yesterday (Nigella express) and it made me extremely inspired to cook, so you'll probably see even more food on my blog the following days. I always wonder what my viewers like to see most, so feel free to drop a comment with suggestions!

All essays are in, and all presentations have been presented. On Thursday we made the final adjustments to our work, and Friday was hand in day. What. A. Relief. So we decided to celebrate, the right way.

Picture from Wildfox. It encapsulates the feeling I had on Friday!

My two beautiful Swedish friends and I decided to go for a nice dinner and we ended up at Cote, in Covent Garden. This is a chain (is there anything which is not a chain in London?) which serves French brasserie food. You know, the good basics: steak, mussels, salade nicoise, poulet roti and chocolate mousse. We enjoyed our dinner with a glass of red wine and talked for hours. We shared delicious fondant au chocolat to top it all off. After an eternity of girl talk we asked for the bill and moved on to the next location.

We walked around a bit and ended up at the W hotel again. I really like going there because the staff is nice and the location is great. I had to call it a night quite early since I would be traveling the next day. It was definitely a successful girls night out! I'll have more time now for my blog since all of those dreadful deadlines are out of the way *everyone cheers*.

Quick tip

Here's a quick tip for the people who love the Isabel Marant sneakers, but think 435 pounds for some sneakers is a little over their budget. I spotted these look-a-likes on the Topshop website and they're new in so I'm not sure if they are available in the shops yet. The real deal does look better of course, but the Topshop ones are more than 400 pounds cheaper. It's unbelievable how fast they come up with look-a-likes!

Bikram yoga

Tonight, I tried yoga for the first time ever. Not just any yoga, but Bikram yoga. This is Wikipedia's description of it:
Bikram's classes run exactly 90 minutes and consist of a set series of 26 postures and 2 breathing exercises. Bikram Yoga is ideally practiced in a room heated to 40.6°C with a humidity of 40%, and is the most popular form of hot yoga (a series of yoga poses done in a heated room).

Clinique high impact mascara

From all the mascaras I've tried so far, this is definitely number one. It's the mascara I keep going back to, after being slightly disappointed by many others. I've finished quite a few of these already, so that must mean something, right?

All about Rosie

Rosie Huntington-Whiteley. Don't need many words to describe her; perfect might be a good one? Here's proof.

Oh no!

I accidentally deleted 6 media-related posts, oh noes! Most frustrating thing ever. I guess that happens when you really should be getting some sleep. I can only remember 5 of them, the last one slipped my mind.

The amazing Cartier ad:
Superbowl half time show:
Brit awards post
Bullhead post
Favorite iPhone apps

I guess I can recover 2 because they were videos, but the other 4 are lost.. forever. Not a massive disaster, but still sad. I will probably re-make the iPhone app post sometime in the future.I hope this never happens again. Now, off to bed!

Marni rose

I can finally show you the shorts I bought at Marni for H&M. I really really love them! I've rolled them up here because the super high waist it not really my thing. I love the very specific pink color it has and the light silk fabric. I'm not that much of a skirt person, but I wear shorts all summer long, so these are perfect!

The one pound blush

Yes you read it correctly, I found a blush that costs one pound. And even better, it's a beautiful blush! Keep reading to find out more about how I found this wonderful product.

Waking up at 9 on a Sunday to go work in the library is not how I imagine a perfect Sunday. But in less than a week, the Easter break starts, which is really something to look forward to.
Now I'm off to the library the second time today after having enjoyed the beautiful spring weather here in London! It will be around 16 degrees and sunny all week, quite unusual for London.

My breakfast this morning consisted of yogurt, banana, strawberries with a bit of vanilla sugar on top. The strawberries were half price so I just couldn't leave them. First time I ate strawberries in months!

After classes at uni today, my friend Katarina was very determined to get some things to make her breakfast yogurt more interesting, so I tagged along and we went to Whole Foods on High Street Kensington. The start of a very nice afternoon..

Rebecca Minkoff M.A.C. bag

I had read about Rebecca Minkoff a lot different blogs, but I never really looked up the brand even though I really liked the handbags whenever they were featured on Fashionsquad. Yesterday, I decided to have a look at the online shop and I fell in love with the M.A.C. bags, the Mini's as well as the regular ones. I'm not sure why they are called M.A.C. bags though. I've never actually seen Rebecca Minkoff bags in store, but that's maybe because I never looked for them. I'd love to see what these bags look like in real life action. I love them!

Recipe: going bananas

Yesterday afternoon I came up with the brilliant idea to bake a banana bread. I had never baked or tasted it before, and I had always been curious. I came across this blog this food blog, which linked to another food blog, which had a delicious banana bread recipe.Click read more to see how it turned out!

Today has been a very productive day, mainly due to time pressure. I mean, who doesn't work well under pressure? So I'm glad I can relax for a bit now; browse around on the net.
Like always, my shopping basket at Asos keeps getting fuller and fuller, while I am well aware of the fact that I'll never buy 99% of it. Don't get me wrong, I like Asos, I just don't like online shopping so much. The thought of buying clothes I've never physically seen is just scary.
But before my thoughts wander off completely, I wanted to show you these items. I really love garments which have a special back. Especially nice in summer when your back is really tanned and your shoulders are a little freckly.. Oh the wait is endless!

Sunday, March 4, 2012

The other day I decided to sort out my nail polishes and took out a little selection of colors I'd like to wear this spring. Although I might as well wait with that since the weather seems to be extremely variable right now.

The coming two weeks consist of deadlines, presentations and some more deadlines. I've even registered at a library in the neighborhood. This is serious business. I can't wait for it to be over!

 Nail polishes:
- Essie
- Mavala
- Catrice
- Inglot
 I recommend all these brands!

Werelse for Mango

Three bloggers have collaborated with Mango to create a small but powerful capsule collection. Bloggers Chiara from the blonde salad, Andi from stylescrapbook and Carolina from fashionsquad , who go by the name Werelse, created a collection of shoes and accessories; 10 pieces in total. The pieces were already featured on their blogs and some of them caught my eye. Like these black wedges and the neon bag. I'm already looking forward to see the collection in the Mango shops, which will be available in stores April 15th.

Pictures from theblondesalad and fashionsquad

Just a quick tip for those who want to spice up their laptop/pc background. I always go to the M.A.C. cosmetics website and take screen shots of the campaign images that come up. They are great quality as backgrounds and the campaign images are usually amazing. Here are some of the backgrounds I've accumulated over the years. Click on the image if you want to save it as background picture. Click 'read more' to see all of them.

Le Comptoir Libanais

Wednesday - After showing around London to a friend who's visiting, we decided to have some lunch. Our initial idea was to go to Vapiano, but as we were walking, we came by this Lebanese place that always looked very appealing to me whenever I walked by it.  So we made a change of plans and went straight into the restaurant where we got seated right away.

Chanel shade parade

I've known this Chanel ad for quite a while, and I was very surprised when I saw it on tv the other day. I never expected this ad to come on tv (every time there is an ad break). I love it! This is one of the ads I actually really enjoy watching every single time. In Selfridges there is a special section now in the beauty department, dedicated to the shade parade where you can get your manicure done with the newest Chanel Le Vernis colors.

First day of March. One of the reasons why I love spring, is because of the spring flowers. While walking  in Notting Hill with my friends the other day, I noticed the first Magnolia flowers coming out of their 'shells'. I've never fully experienced London in the spring season with blossoming cherry trees and Magnolia's, so I really can't wait. In anticipation, I bought some white tulips for in my room. After the daffodils, cherry blossoms, magnolia's and snowdrops have had their time of glory, it's time for the other flowers to come out, like roses. But I shouldn't get ahead of myself, and enjoy the spring flowers now instead of thinking of summer flowers. But I just can't help taking pictures of the roses at the Selfridges florist every time I walk by.

I discovered this beautiful jewelry through honestlywtf and I just had to show you. Delicate, thin golden jewelry (especially rings) is all I like so this brand is perfect in my eyes! The turquoise rings are exquisite. Go check it out for yourself Just looking at this jewelry makes me happy already.
