La Fromagerie

Since I haven't written about London in a loooong time, and London still is one of the main themes on this blog, I decided I had to tell you about one of my new favorite places. La Fromagerie is, as you may have guessed, a charming little cheese shop in a street just off Marylebone High Street.

It doesn't only sell cheeses, but it's a deli which sells a selected amount of delicious and good quality food. Have a look..

DIY part 2

Remember this post? Well I decided to turn my summer DIY into a winter DIY and bleached a pair of dark skinny jeans. If you like the result, just follow the steps in my previous do it yourself post. I quite like the result, even though the left leg didn't bleach as much. But I might fix that with some ripped effect. What do you think?

I quite like these jeans paired with my high top sneakers . I'll see how often I wear these jeans this winter, and if I don't wear them often I'll probably end up turning them into shorts next summer. I love DIY-ing!

Fluffy macrons

I had these macrons a little while back in London, in honor of the Queen's diamond jubilee. Although I'm not the biggest fan of macrons, I went out on that special day to Laduree and picked up 6 macrons to try out.

Naked 2

One of the coolest gifts I got for my birthday is the Naked 2 eyeshadow palette by Urban Decay (thank you sis!) I had seen this palette at Sephora and on blogs before, and thought it contained the most perfect natural eyeshadow colors. You can find loads of swatches and Youtube videos with this palette online, but I couldn't help myself taking some pictures of this little make-up treasure.

A little info about the Naked 2: First there was the Naked 1 palette, a palette filled with natural looking eyeshadow colors. This palette was so popular that Urban Decay came out with a second Naked palette: the Naked 2. Naked 1 has more warm toned colors and Naked 2 more cool toned colors, which I think look better with pale skin and blue eyes.

Stay hydrated

While the summer is still there I wanted to give you a little tip to ensure you stay hydrated during these hot days. I'm one of those people who forgets to drink sometimes and gets massive headaches as a result. I read this little tip somewhere ages ago and kept it in the back of my mind until last week, when I finally tried it out.

The tip is to put 8 hair ties around a glass that you refill with water throughout the day. Each time you finish a glass, you take off one hair tie. Do this until no hair ties are left so that by the end of the day, you will have had your 8 glasses of water (you can also have 9 or 10, whatever you like). This way, I keep track of how much I drink and ensure I drink enough water. The "difficult drinkers" among you should try it out!

Sporty spice

Love this H&M item. Sporty for obvious reasons but also girly because of the rhinestones. Need to try it on next time I pop into H&M. I predict this will be a popular item in the blogosphere. What do you think?

New in: the Maybelline Babylips lipbalm. My sister brought back some goodies from L.A. including two lipbalms by Maybelline. I had seen these all over Youtube so I wanted to try them out (also because I hadn't seen them in Europe which makes it even more desirable).

I've only tried the color Pink Punch so far (there are 6 colors) and I love it! It's actually a lipbalm and lipstick in one because it gives off a pink color on your lips and a yummy fruity flavor as a bonus. Reminds me a bit of the Revlon Lip Butters. All in all, I'm a fan of Maybelline Baby Lips!

I wonder when these will come out in Europe because I haven't seen these lipbalms on any European blogs, does anyone know?

Birthday wish list

Every year I make a mental wish list for my birthday which is always way too big and 'dream on girl!'. But still I'd like to show you what's on my wish list this year (I'm turning 19 on Friday!).

What you're looking at:
1. Zara red lace top - would be perfect to wear on my birthday
2. Givenchy phone case - the scary dog will keep thieves away, hopefully ;)
3. Givenchy small Antigona bag - Dream. Bag.
4. M.A.C. Heavenly Creature collection - I want it all!!
5. Prada Saffiano bag - classic handbag, you can never go wrong with it
6. Nike Freerun pink shoes - desperately need good and pretty running shoes, I love these

I know I probably won't get all of these items but a girl can dream right? Above all, I just want to eat lots of birthday cakes, blow out candles and have a beautiful day with lots of birthday cuddles (yes I kinda forced those three c's). Have a great day!

Recipe: zucchini with quinoa

This is a super easy and healthy recipe that I came up with a few days ago. Because we have an abundance in home-grown zucchinis, it's a must to find a way of incorporating this vegetable into dishes in different ways.. zucchini soup, pasta with zucchini, raw zucchini in a salad, you name it. I felt like making a healthy lunch the other day so as a side dish I made zucchini with quinoa and some fresh herbs and it was a success!

I used yellow zucchinis for this recipe because I prefer the taste but you could also use regular green zucchinis which are easier to find in shops.

I haven't shown you any pictures of my trip to Switzerland so here they are. I spent most of the time tanning in the sun, drinking Rivella (you don't get this drink in Belgium), eating the best food ever, playing Logosquiz (I was obsessed with it! Best iPhone app of this summer), reading magazines like Good Housekeeping (preparing for my years as a housewife ha-ha), swimming in the cold lake and watching Breaking Bad with my boyfriend (also a new obsession).

A pretty perfect holiday if you ask me.

Nude & glitter

I've been quite busy lately as I spent the last days of July in Switzerland at the very beautiful Lago Maggiore with my boyfriend (reasonable excuse, right?). But I'm finally back home now so that means more blogging!

So I promised you a little while ago to show you my favorite purchase of this summer, which is this gorgeous pair of nude and glittery platform heels.
