Most loved VIII

Time for the last Most loved post of 2013. It's been another great year, even though it went by way to fast! I'm ready for 2014 though, are you too? Here's my most loved...

Feeling: being at home
There's no place like home. I think everyone can agree with me on this one. London is amazing, traveling is great, but nothing beats sitting by the fireplace, surrounded by my family, dog and cats. It's the best!

Nuxe Huile Prodigieuse

One of my friends recommended this product to me, so when I was in Paris and saw this little bottle I tossed it in my shopping basket. It's a dry oil which you can use on your body, face and hair. So far I've used it in my hair before blowdrying it for extra shine, softness and a lovely scent. I can't wait to use this on my legs once it's summertime again for hydration and a subtle glow.

Zara favourites

It's been a while since I did a Zara favourites post, so with the sales coming up, I decided to share with you my favourite items. Some are from the new collection so won't be on sale, but some others I hope to find for a good bargain like a cashmere polo neck, the gold statement necklace and some silk shirts. What will you look for this sale season?

Paris part V

My last day in Paris was quite short since my train would leave around noon. Montana had to go to class so she left me wandering around Paris by myself. There's a few things I hadn't seen yet like during my visit like Le Pont Des Arts so that's where I headed first.

Merry Christmas!

It's not officially Christmas yet, for me Christmas eve is the main Christmas 'event'. A nice dinner with the family, sitting by the fireplace unwrapping gifts and simply having quality time all together. Every year I have a reoccurring wish: a white Christmas. Unfortunately for most of us this won't be the case this year, however I still wanted to add a few snowflakes to our Christmas through this photo I took during our ski holiday this year, isn't it beautiful?

I wish a very merry Christmas to all my readers!

Paris part IV

On Sunday afternoon we continued our stroll through Le Marais on the look-out for lunch.

Paris part III

Day three in Paris also started with beautiful sunshine and blue skies. Today's plan was to go to Le Marais, as this is one of Paris' neighbourhoods where shops are open on Sundays.

Paris part II

Paris day deux started kind of late (I blame it on the very late previous night), but we quickly got ready, hopped on a bus and got off at Jardin du Luxembourg just in time to enjoy the beautiful sunny morning. The plan of the day was to walk around in St. Germain to see a few things that were on my list.

Christmas wish list

My wish list for this year isn't very big, but they are all pretty pricey things. Most of all I would love to get a new iPhone and a new camera. My electronics are kind of 'dying' so it's time for some new gadgets. I would also like some new sportswear; the Nike Free Flashpack sneakers are pretty cool and I tried on the Nike x Gyakusou vest in London and it was just perfect. A Bobble also wouldn't be bad since I'm always drinking out of bottles. I'm not actually wishing for the Alaïa dress but I saw it in red velvet and thought it was the most perfect Christmas dress so it deserved a spot on this list. What's on your wish list?
Alaïa dress - Canon Rebel SL 1 - iPhone 5s - Nike Free 5.0

Nike x Gyakusou Jacket - Bobble - Nike x Gyakusou shirt

Paris part I

A few weeks ago it was finally time for me to book a ticket to Paris; not only because I hadn't been there since 2011, but also because I still hadn't visited my best friend from high school who's been living in Paris for the last two years. Last Friday, it was time to pack my bag and head to Paris. In less than two hours, I set foot in Gare Du Nord where I was greeted with a massive hug and a lot of excitement.

Thai Metro

This is a restaurant I’ve been to numerous times, but still haven’t told you about. How could I? It’s one of my favourite places for a super easygoing and very cheap lunch or dinner. Thai Metro is located on Charlotte Street (nearly opposite another favourite: Roka – read my review) and serves classic Thai food as we know it in Europe: curries, noodles, spring rolls...

NARS Crime of Passion face kit

After having received my first NARS product last summer, I’ve been loving NARS products. The packaging is so pretty and so are the products inside of course. So as a little “treat yourself” thing after my exam and deadlines, I ordered some NARS goodies on Asos. There was a 20% discount, which made it hard to resist. One of the things I got is the NARS Crime of Passion face kit.

Takashimaya Kyoto department store

One evening during out stay in Kyoto, we decided to visit some big department stores. One of them was Takashimaya, where we pretty much immediately went to the basement, the food hall. It's comparable to the foodhall at Harrods only bigger; very impressive. Especially the fruits and vegetables department was one of the most elaborate I've seen.

Christmas & New Year outfit inspiration

I'm a big lover of this time of the year and everything that comes with it: fairy lights, family time, fire places, snow, mulled wine and the smell of Christmas trees. Another thing I love is figuring out what to wear to Christmas parties, Christmas eve and New Years. I'm sure I'm not the only one thinking about it, that's why I put together a few outfits for you with some things I found online.
Zara open lace-up booties // French Connection embellished dress // Chanel Rouge Allure Velvet La Desiree // Chanel Illusion D'Ombre Initiation
A subtle yet sexy look thanks to the shoes (which are currently my favourite pair) and the dark lipstick.

Zara white collar playsuit // Charlotte Olympia black Kitty slippers // Dior Creme de Rose
A cute outfit for Christmas with the whole family. Keep the make-up subtle with a bit of mascara and a moisturizing lip balm (I heard this one is amazing). Those Charlotte Olympia flats must be mine one day!

Three Floor dress // Kurt Geiger platform sandals // Tom Ford Nude Vanille // Bobbi Brown Shimmer Brick
A more fun dress for New Years eve, paired with sky high heels, sparkly blush/highlighter and nude lips.

Charlotte Olympia green Kitty slippers // Zara sequin satin dress // Kurt Geiger bag // Bobbi Brown Shimmer brick
This is more of a day-time Christmas look. The hat and the bag make it more casual, while the dress looks quite chic.
French Connection drop-waist dress // Zara gold sandals // Zara gold necklace // Bobbi Brown Smokey Eye palette
Another good look for New Year's eve. The gold accessories make it a very festive look and the Bobbi Brown palette is perfect for a dark, smoky make-up look.

Needle & Thread New Years dress // Needle & Thread sparkly dress // Need & Thread sequin dress // Lipsy lace dress //Missguided shift dress // Missguided lace sleeve dress
Last but not least, I found even more festive dresses, perfect for Christmas and New Years.

Do you know what you'll be wearing during this year's festivities?

Sticks 'n Sushi Covent Garden

Remember my enthusiastic post about Sticks ‘n Sushi in Wimbledon? Well, get ready for another one. The new Sticks‘n Sushi in Covent Garden opened a few weeks ago and I couldn’t be happier. Before this restaurant becomes as busy as every good restaurant in London, I wanted to share this foodie paradise with you! I’ve been twice so far, so I managed to snap a few pictures. (check my previous post for better ones)

Lush Cinders bath bomb

Up until this year I didn’t have a bathtub in London, so now that I have one I have to make use of it even though I much prefer showering. But I do think bathing is very relaxing, so during my crazy stressful deadline week last week I decided one evening to treat myself with a nice hot bath and a Lush bath bomb. I had never tried any, but I know Cinders is a huge favourite so I got that one.

Christmas at the Conran shop

Finding original gifts is never an easy task. But luckily in London there's such a huge amount of shops and options, that it's just a little easier then elsewhere. The Conran shop is a kind of interior/design/foodie/book/beauty store. I had a little snoop around the Marylebone branch while snapping some sneaky photos of the incredible Christmas decorations.

Most loved VII

It's time for another most loved post; I can't even remember when I posted the last one! So here's a random little collection of my favourite things of the past few weeks.

Aje Korean BBQ, Kyoto

During our stay in Kyoto, Japan, we weren't sure one night where we should eat. While walking down our street, which was full of hidden restaurants, we found Aje. As it was still early, we decided to explore some shops first. Not the best decision, as by the time we came back to the restaurant, there was a 1 hour waiting list. That meant two things 1) we were going to get VERY hungry and 2) the food was going to be good.

Discount time!

The past two weeks there have been lots of in-shop and online discounts here in the UK, which I'm still not used to, however it's perfect for some Christmas shopping. There's still 20% off at Liberty, 20% off at Selfridges (code: SELF2013), 20% off and free delivery tomorrow at Missguided (code: MEGAMONDAY) and tomorrow is cyber Monday so I'm expecting lots of discounts on Amazon. Asos has 20% off all orders today with the code 20EXTRA. I like buying make-up on Asos because it's always cheaper (especially now!) and they have some really nice things. Check below my favourites from NARS (check out the Guy Bourdin collection, it's sold out everywhere!), Benefit (I love the They're Real mascara), OPI and Cowshed.
